Homemade Meals at Hartland
Good Food Is an Important Part of Feeling at Home
At Hartland Residential Care Center, mealtime is about more than simply serving food. It is a time to gather around the table, enjoy a freshly prepared meal, visit with friends, and experience one of the comforts of home.
Our meals are Heart Healthy homemade and served family-style, with an emphasis on quality ingredients, appealing presentation, variety, and great taste. Diabetic-friendly meal options are also available to accommodate the dietary needs of our residents.
Meals are a daily opportunity for nourishment, comfort, and connection.
Hartland Residential Care Center serves home-style meals and snacks in a warm dining environment where residents can enjoy familiar foods and friendly conversation. Caregivers monitor appetite, hydration, and dining challenges, offering cueing or hands-on help when needed. We work with families to understand preferences and communicate concerns if eating habits, swallowing comfort, or weight appear to change.
We take pride in the meals that leave our kitchen and want every resident to look forward to sitting down at the table.
Faith, Fellowship & Gratitude
At Hartland Residential Care Center, our Christian faith is an important part of the warm, homelike atmosphere we strive to provide. Before lunch and dinner, we take a moment together to say a blessing and give thanks for our meal, our residents, our staff, and the many blessings of each day.
This simple tradition encourages gratitude, fellowship, and a sense of togetherness around the table.

Residents may enjoy selections such as made-to-order omelets with fresh hash browns and fruit, sandwiches with homemade sides during the warmer months, or warm soups and comforting seasonal favorites during the winter.
Once a month, we change things up with Breakfast for Dinner, featuring favorites such as biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and fruit.
Fresh, Homemade & Well-Balanced
Our approach to dining is centered around a few simple principles:
Well-Balanced • Fresh • Homemade • Quality Ingredients • Reduced Salt • Reduced Sugar
We prepare quality meats and incorporate fresh vegetables and fruits whenever seasonally available.
Fresh From Hartland
Our country setting gives us the opportunity to enjoy some ingredients grown right here at Hartland.
Our property features peach, apple, and pear trees, along with a raised strawberry bed and an approximately 4,500-square-foot garden.
When the seasons cooperate, there is nothing quite like enjoying fresh produce grown close to home.
A Little Variety Is Always Welcome
We occasionally treat our residents to a meal from a local restaurant selected by majority preference. We also enjoy supporting community traditions and local events, including favorites such as the Saline County BBQ, Optimist Dinners and others like Catalpa (Arrow Rock, MO).
These special meals provide another opportunity for our residents to enjoy familiar local favorites and stay connected with our community.
HEART HEALTHY. Made With Care. Served Like Home.
