What Is Residential Care?
Residential Care is for seniors who can still do many things on their own but need a little help each day.
Think of it as having your own home, with caring people nearby 24 hours a day when you need them.
Residential Care — Not a Nursing Home
Hartland Residential Care Center is a Residential Care Facility designed for individuals who can safely MENTALLY and PHYSICALLY navigate INDEPENTLY in the event of an emergency but may benefit from assistance with everyday needs. Hartland is a residential care home, not a large institutional building. The smaller setting helps residents feel known, reduces overstimulation, and allows caregivers to notice changes in mood, appetite, mobility, and comfort more quickly.
At Hartland Residential Care Center, our 24-hour awake staff help with things like:

Who Can Live at Hartland?
Residential Care is best for someone who does not need the higher level of medical care provided by a nursing home.
Residents must also be able to understand an emergency and safely get to safety within the required amount of time.
Every person is different, so we visit with each resident and their family to make sure Hartland is the right level of care for them.
Residential Care vs. a Nursing Home
Here's the easiest way to explain the difference:
Residential Care:
"I can still do many things for myself, but I need some help."
Nursing Home:
"I need a higher level of medical and nursing care."
What Makes Hartland Different?
We're small—and we like it that way.
Hartland has accommodations for only 12 senior adults. That gives us the opportunity to really get to know the people who live here—their likes and dislikes, routines, personalities, and individual needs. Size of the community should be an important component of your discission for more personal 1 on 1 care.
We're located in a quiet, country-like setting on a private drive just outside Marshall, Missouri.
Our goal is simple:
Provide the help you need.
Encourage the independence you have.
And give you a comfortable place to call home.
